About

Just a homebrewer and craftbeer lover chronicling my adventures.  I have recently arrived in Portland, OR and am excited to experience as many craftbeer establishments as I can.

I started homebrewing in 1998 with a simple canned brown ale kit.  I eventually went through various brewing setups as my life moved me from place to place.  I’ve had a 4 tap kegerator I’ve sold, barley mills given away (to move) and finally am settled down and keeping it simple so far.  No keg’s, and just doing all grain with ‘Brew In A Bag’ BIAB method.

  1. Hi Jerry,

I just saw your recipe for Pumpkin Saison and I think I’ve decided what to do for my next brew day. I’ve really gotten into drinking saisons lately and was thinking it’s time for my annual pumpkin brew, but now I can bridge the gap. I just saw a recipe similar to this in Zymurgy, so I might do a bit of of mash-up between the two and come up with a recipe of my own.

I was wondering if you ever worked with other writers on posts for your site? I’ve been homebrewing for a while and I’m trying to do some beer-related writing, so I thought that I’d reach out to you and see if this is something you might be interested in.

Thanks in advance, I’m looking forward to hearing back from you.

    Cheers,
    Blake
