I apparently blew up my blog trying to load a picture app at www.icrafthomebrew.com/pics/ and my latest backup didn’t restore properly… I guess I will manually backup myself weekly from now on.
I do have my backup from several weeks ago on my old website, so I stuck with that. I think I might have only lost 1 or 2 posts, so not a HUGE mistake, something I’ll learn from.
I’ve been pretty quiet on here lately, I just haven’t brewed this past 3-4 weeks. I have been tending to the wine though and finally transferred both the Rose Hip Wine & Rhubarb wine to secondary fermenters.
My Pseudo Munich Dunkel is ready to bottle, I’ll knock that out later this week once I get another day off from work.
My next brew I now want to make up a Cranberry Wheat. I listened to a Basic Brewing Radio podcast & Chris (editor of BYO) brought up his annual Cranberry Wheat recipe & it sounds intriguing.
Also, I want to knock out a SwarzenKolsch. I had a Flat Tail Brewing Wetsuit Swarzenkolsch & tweeted about how it would be a great home brew experiment. Mixing a nice Kolsch yeast & base with a swarzenbier malt bill. Flat Tail tweeted back to me that they would let me know the recipe if I wanted it.
Sure enough! I now have their recipe & will brew it after I do the Cranberry Wheat, likely both this next week. I will send along a sample of the SwarzenKolsch to Flat Tail for some feedback.
Rhubarb Wine Sample- Still Chunky
Well, it has been about three years since I’ve home brewed, and I am on my way to making my re-start. I have decided to start THIS blog as a way to chronicle my home brewing adventures, log my craft brew tastings, and keep track of other misc things such as my recipes, nights out, and general craft brew & home brew news I find interesting.
I don’t expect this blog to be widely read, or read at all. If that is the case, I am OK as it is mainly for my notes. Instead of just relying on a spreadsheet for my tasting notes, some software to keep track and formulate my home brew, I will compile all things BEER for me, here.
Over time, I imagine I will have pictures of my brewing, beers I drink and other additions to this site (like a feed of my tweets). I also will figure out the customization of the look of this site as well.
I welcome those who do find this site and browse over it, and raise a pint to your interest!
